Most of the spices are good 2 years from the mill date, which is listed on the harvest label sticker on the jar or bag. That being said, our spices are extremely potent and fresh as we take incredible care to source yearly and aim for quality, so 2 years is our most conservative guideline, compared to most spices in the grocery store which are often 5-10 years old upon purchase.

Store them in an airtight container in a dark, dry place. Do not store spices in direct sunlight, as this will shorten their shelf life.

Our Chef Baking Duo brings together two baking essentials: plump whole vanilla beans and rich Anamalai Cacao Powder. Both are premium baking ingredients sourced from our farm partners and packed in generous chef-size quantities, so you can keep them close for everything from cookies and cakes to custards, brownies, and hot cocoa.

For the person who always has something in the oven or wants to. The Chef Baking Duo is made for passionate home bakers, pastry pros, and anyone who gets excited about good ingredients. With whole vanilla beans and deeply aromatic cacao powder on hand, you're ready for your next baking project.

A good baking pantry starts with versatile ingredients you'll use again and again. Vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cardamom, and cacao can all bring warmth, aroma, and depth to everything from cakes and cookies to pies and brownies. Fresh, high-quality spices for baking make a noticeable difference in the finished bake.

Whole vanilla beans bring an especially rich, aromatic vanilla flavor, along with those beautiful little vanilla seeds you can see throughout your bake. Split the pod, scrape out the seeds, and use them in custards, ice cream, cakes, whipped cream, and anywhere you want vanilla to really shine. And don't toss the pod. It can infuse sugar, cream, or syrups, too.

Absolutely. A baking spice gift set is a pretty great gift for anyone who loves to bake. Whole vanilla beans and rich cacao powder are versatile enough for everything from a weekend batch of cookies to a full-on baking project, so they're ingredients they'll actually want to use.
